A Radical Path

It’s possible that you find yourself cornered today. Although you are not lost in the foreseen Andes, you feel gripped with fear because your situation is extreme. It’s time to get control of your finances. Or break off a compromising relationship. Or say yes to God’s clear leading. Or come to terms with your priorities. Or get your career in gear. It’s no time for a mild and easy shift. The dilemma is extreme and the only solution is a radical one. You’ve thought it through and you’ve considered all the alternatives. Your throat is sore from praying and your eyes burn from weeping. You know it’s right but you;re scared. Really scared. Initially, somebody won’t understand and you’ll not be able to explain. Yet you are convinced it’s best…it will glorify God…it can be supported by scriptural principles…and it’s right.

So? So, quit procrastinating and do it.

Had Christ not taken a drastic step, sinners like us would’ve never survived the Fall. We would never have been rescued. We would be permanently lost. The cross was God’s incredible response to our extreme dilemma. Christ did something radical.

Now it’s your turn. Get with it.

Commit again to the Lord the radical step which you believe He wants you to take. As you do, listen to His words to His servant in Joshua 1:9.

Charles R. Swindoll

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

This was my devotion for the day, and it could not be anymore ON TIME for me. Moving forward with the Word God has placed in my heart.

Strength And Encouragement

This is my daily devotional for the day. It is amazing how God has just the right words for every circumstance. His grace IS sufficient for me, all day, everyday. Thank you Lord for your everlasting love and faithfulness.

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Someone has said, “God always answers our prayers, either by giving us what we ask for or by giving us something even better.” In Paul’s case, God gave him something even better.

Paul was afflicted with what he described as “a thorn in the flesh” - it was something that caused him constant pain. It was such a deep-felt difficulty that he took it fervently to God in prayer, three times pleading to have his suffering taken away.

The verse above is God’s answer to Paul.

But how was this an answer to prayer? God didn’t remove Paul’s painful burden. In fact, God told Paul that he wouldn’t remove it at all. But God’s answer to Paul’s prayer was even better: my grace is sufficient for thee.

Notice God didn’t say, “My grace is sufficient for this difficulty;” God said “My grace is sufficient for you, Paul.” Paul asked for deliverance from one ordeal, but God guaranteed him grace for every trial, throughout his life.

And, although Paul would still experience much suffering, God reminded him that this simply gave him an even greater opportunity to exalt the name of Christ. My strength, God declared, is even more evident when you are helpless. Therefore, this struggle is an opportunity for you to fulfill your purpose as a Christian, more than you ever could in a pain-free life.

Beloved, rest assured that God’s grace is still sufficient, and that his power is still being manifested through the difficulties you face in your life. What a marvelous answer to prayer this is!

Most of the time we try to justify the things we choose to do. Often we attempt to add God’s approval to our actions. While it is true that our actions will not spoil God’s plan, it is also true that we are responsible for what we do and must always be cautious about our motives. When thinking about a course of action, are you simply seeking God’s stamp of approval on something you’ve already decided to do? Or are you willing to set the plan aside if the principles and commands of God’s Word are against the action? Initiative and action are admirable and right when they are controlled by God’s wisdom.
My Daily Sanctuary Devotion (Bible, NLT)

What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open: “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.
Revelation 3:7-8

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

The people in 1910 probably thought in 2010 we would have flying cars and robots …but no. so far we’ve come up with backwards robes and rubber bands shaped like animals.
